Squatters.....

It is always wonderful to set off for a few days truffling with the anticipation of what I will find. But, even better is arriving back at the chateau with a car loaded with treasures.

We were late home so went straight to bed. But the next morning as we lit the log fire I glanced into the garden and saw we had squatters!!

Mr and Mrs Storkington appear to have moved in and set up home within 3 days!

They must have worked really hard to build such a comfy nest in such a short time. I wonder if they had a designer in?

Even more interesting is..........when do the babies arrive? What do do call baby storks.....storklets?

I am now photographing and listing the latest treasures but it is quite easy to be distracted by the newly weds!!

A la prochaine mes belles

  1. I love your new neighbours, we've got Magpies nesting in the tree opposite our house and it's fascinating to watch them. We can't believe how the nest has stayed up there in all these high winds and snow we've had recently...still trying to snow now!! Have a fabulous Easter.

  2. So now you're going to be stalking the storks and storkletsin their home made of stalks! Careful which brand of margerine you use - you don't want to upset them. Incidentally, given the "items" they are known to deliver ... is there something that you are not telling us???
Well, now that I've got that out of my system, I'm off to book a day out at Cadbury's with the grand-kids. (One of the few advantages of living in the UK and only being able to visit our house in France for 3 or 4 months of the year.) Thank you for the idea! Joyeuses Paques.

    1. Dear Len

Ohhhh noooooooooooooo!!!! Not a stork delivery....heaven forbid!!
As for Cadburys....oh I dream about it!!! When I get really desperate I give in to the extortionate English section in the supermarche and pay 4 pounds for a little bar!!

  3. Spring has sprung, as they say! How wonderful to watch nature, as you do. I love nature in our yard, then the neighbor cat shows up! Yikes.
