The Paris opera ballet.................

I have just got home from a wonderful truffling trip and as I was unloading this haul I simply had to hang them up to show you as I am so excited and haven`t shut up talking about it for days whilst we were on the road!!

These wonderful old costumes are all from The Paris opera ballet and date from the 1920s onwards.  I  have tutus, crowns, tiaras, corsage flowers and a wonderfuI  array of flowing dresses. I will tell you how I found them tomorrow and also announce the giveaway winner. I just couldn`t pack it all in bags until I had shown you all!!

There is one tiny tiny tutu and crown that I am convinced is for a performing poodle.......where is Digger when you need him?

There are also those amazing short tutus that stick out horizontally from the waist!

Click on the pics for a closer look! I know I am an addict but there is nothing like truffling in Paris searching for old treasures!!!

  3. There is something quite magical about a dancers dress, hanging it has the most hidden and marvellous potential, as if it is just waiting to step out onto the stage..........

  4. Love your blog, love these pictures!! Takes me back to my childhood where I dreamed of being a ballerina - really just wanted to wear the dresses w/o all the work of actually dancing on my toes =)

  6. I tried to stuff Froufrou into one as she is quite tiny and they wouldn`t even fasten at the back! There was a good 12" gap!
I always wanted to be a ballerina so they could name a pudding after me!!!!

  14. The only word that springs to mind, is "WOW"!
You have managed to truffle out my grand-daughters fantasy. (I've just given her your ebay page details and you are now "on watch" I have been informed.)

Have a fantastic time with your girls, and enjoy every minute of having them with you - just remember to have a bottle of Cognac close to hand.
