The day started with rain today and Sir Digbert Fanshaw refused to get out of bed................
.....so in the quiet of the early morning I decided it was time to bite the bullet and get the wax out to tackle the wood.
It was so dry and thirsty it drank the wax as soon as it went on. Many coats later that dry dusty wood started to sing.............
I now know it is most definitely right for the room
So................
whats next?
Get a toothbrush and clean the chandelier with the red amber lustres that I have been hoarding...............
Anyone want to help?
I am still hiding from you the silk 19th century silk brocade chateau drapes that I have truffled out for the room.
A la prochaine mes belles!!

Your fireplace is gorgeous and the chandelier....stunning! Love the picture of Sir Digbert in bed, I've got four Pugs in front of the AGA refusing to go out if it rains and pooping in the kitchen! Looking forward to seeing the drapes.

Ho Jo
SupprimerIt was well after 11 when he finally got up! Digs hates the rain and the cold, he has no fur on his belly and loves the warmth. I think he needs a sweater!!

Looking good Shirl!

Getting there.....slow but sure!!
SupprimerShirley, it looks beautiful! I love the fireplace and the chandelier. I cannot wait to see it all come together.
RépondreSupprimerYour dog is so darn cute...all cuddled up in the blankets...adorable.
RépondreSupprimerLove your fireplace...don't you wonder who waxed it before you? I always wonder that when I clean my antique china cabinet. All the details that need special attention. If we only knew the life it lived.
I wish you a happy week and pull out those chateau drapes!!! LOL
