With grateful thanks to our friend Marcel for writing such wonderful poetry.................
Amid a thousand fragrant blooms
And a heady mix of sweet perfumes
I thought I saw a tiny face
As delicate as silken lace
With cupids lips, cherry red
...Among the flowers in my garden bed
Enchanted I could but transfixed stare
As her honeysuckle wand she shook loose from her hair
And enticed a kingfisher of the deepest lustre blue
To stop and sample of her wares, and sip of honeydew
And then at once she was no longer there
As she faded into the summer air
Was she real- I can not know
But in my heart I truly hope so.
