Notre Dame de la Salette....................

I pass this huge cast iron figure daily in the grounds of a local church.....................
And I know nothing about it at all other than it carries the wording Notre Dame de la Salette.............
And although it is very very beautiful.............

It is also SO sad and sombre ....I wonder what her story is?

    She is the mother of christ who appeared at LaSalette and wept.The cause of her tears was the “false light [that] illumines the world,” the lack of faith, the scandals in the Church,and the loss of the sabbath.
